  • From the Mountains to the Ocean

We Apple people have been having an interesting discussion (of course it’s interesting – otherwise it wouldn’t have really occurred…) about the ocean and mountains etc.

The general consensus is that if one has grown up around one or the other, a restless feeling can develop when not around these natural features. This of course makes sense. What did come to the fore is that with oceans and mountains, is that one can often be an acceptable substitute for the other.

I’ve almost always been within an hour or so of the water my whole life, and on the odd occasion I haven’t been, I’ve generally been up a mountain. Looking back, I’d agree with the above.

In the conversation it was mentioned that some people live 8-900 miles away from any large body of water, or mountain, and are quite happy about this. I’m not really sure how I’d feel plonked in the middle of Texas (apart from the obvious reasons ;)).

  • Oh Lord, where will it end?

Reality TV. As we all know, anything but real. How is taking a group of people and putting them in an artificial environment with artificial rules and tasks ‘real’?

At the moment the tv is on in the background, and the Biggest Loser is on (don’t click that link if you’re an NZer currently watching – it has more than you need to see – in so many ways).

This show brings together a group of overwei lean-mass challenged individuals who want to regain their former glory. Or become anorexic/bulemic. Or perhaps both. It’s at this point in time I wish my ability to eat an inordinate amount of crap and not get fat was marketable to insecure women. But anyway – moving on. Matt lost 22 pounds in one week. Something easily achievable by anyone if they crossed this show with ‘The Inspector’ – the best Dining Out guide by far, in my book.

Speaking of which, I have watched the latter show on occasion, and found it quite entertaining, and educational. I now know not to eat kebabs.

  • Never say 'never'…

Why am I doing this? Because the hosting company has loads of features, and I thought experiencing from the client point of view would be great.

…ok ok – that, and Arcturi probably knows more about what’s there, than I do!
