  • TradeMe – where many, many, fine items can be bought and sold.

Got to love this guy’s style :p

I get the feeling she’s not going to be very happy with him. Perhaps the purchaser should re-list so she has a chance to buy them back…or the new boyfriend. Although the seller didn’t say whether it was a guy, or a girl of course.

  • Ancient Celtic New Zealand

Ancient Celtic New Zealand looks interesting.

I haven’t taken a good look yet, but will do so in the near future and share my thoughts.

On a side note, it’s very difficult to keep politics and groups with racial agendas at bay, so good luck to them on this account.

    bike for sale

    Post Date: Aug 7th, 2006 ย Expire Date: Sep 6th, 2006

$10,000 06′ Suzuki GSXR 1000 Farmington , UT 84025 – Aug 7, 2006 2006 Suzuki 1000. This bike is perfect! It has 1000 miles and has had its 500 mile dealer service. (Expensive) It’s been adult ridden, all wheels have always been on the ground. I use it as a cruiser/commuter. I’m selling it because it was purchased without proper consent of a loving wife. Apparently “do whatever the f*** you want” doesn’t mean what I thought. Call me, Steve. (801)867-8292

    Brilliant.

  • Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you…

To one person who doesn’t mind everyone knowing, and to another who does (but who’s on holiday on an island somewhere at present, so won’t know either way :p)

    Enjoy!

  • It’s out!!!

At last. The sun, that is. I think it may be lost. We’ll see how long this lasts.

p.s. the first person who even thinks about washing their car will get hosed off themselves.

  • Toy Update – iMac.

On the morning Apple announced the 24″ ‘iMac I called Ubertec in Parnell and ordered one. Talia said they didn’t have a price at that time, which really was quite an irrelevant statement.

Having had the machine for a couple of months, I couldn’t be happier. It supports full 1080p High Definition, it’s stupidly fast, runs Windows (queue the ‘stupid’ word again) and it’s silent. It also avoids the ignominy of having Windows defile the machine by allowing Windows applications to run inside of OS X – without Windows.

One of the best things about it is Front Row. Plays music, movies, tv shows, photo slideshows etc to the monitor or tv or whatever using the included remote. Brilliant.

    Couldn’t be happier ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Where to eat in Auckland: Mamma Rosa

Definitely. Will expand more later – for now, I’ve been there 3-4 times so far, and everything I’ve ordered – and the people I’ve gone with have ordered – has been great ๐Ÿ™‚

Up there with St. Tropez (which I’ve yet to do during my lazy non-posting days, hence nothing said about it so far,.Mamma Rosa is located in Melanesia Road, in Kohimarama. Relatively small, with inside and outside dining, and the service is above average too.

    Well worth a look.

  • Bl**dy weather!

It’s the end of October. Summer supposedly.

It’s raining. Again. It’s not hot and sunny like summer should be. Of course I am in Auckland. Bugger the motorway. Do something about the damn weather!

Tickets are booked, and we’re hopping on a plane to somewhere sunnier shortly. ’bout time.

    End of rant.

  • Change is coming.

The mothership site is in desperate need of a facelift. The process has been put in motion, so watch this – err that – space. Now that is has been said, I’m sure I’ll be hassled incessantly until it’s done (by a certain two people, at least!)

  • Where to eat in Auckland: Vivace

Adding to my posts earlier re: the poor level of education and effort present with regard to wait staff in Auckland (and NZ as a whole), there are some bright patches to be seen. Amongst these is Vivace, in High Street.

The first thing I did when we walked in last week was to order Caprioskas. I was somewhat impressed when the barman not only made the drinks without the use of reference material or a “huh – what’s that?”, but made the refreshments to a suitably high standard.

Now that I’ve got that off my chest… The food was reasonably good – decent risotto and pasta respectively, and I’d probably eat there again. Ultimately nothing that made me sit up and take notice too much, but I didn’t automatically add it to my mental list of places not to eat again (currently headed by The Observatory).

The floor however, is a different matter. I’ve seen various comments around the ‘net that the floor is slippery (which it is) and that people fall over every so often (which they do). Whilst entertaining, it would be a bit disconcerting if it happened to a friend.

Further to this, the outside area has planks on the floor, with reasonable gaps between the planks. Not good for those who wear shoes with anything approaching stiletto heels, as discovered by my company the night we went.

I really must return with a torch and rope one day to find her.
